About the Civila War Gathering of Eagles

Take a break from the normal reenactment. “A Gathering of Eagles” is an educational experience designed to enlighten all who desire to learn the causes, not just the effects of the War Between the States. Individuals educated in all aspects of the contest will involve themselves in discussions that will not only entertain, but stimulate listeners to seek further knowledge of America’s greatest crisis.
Confederate Generals

President LincolnPresidents Davis and Lincoln will discuss issues that were prevalent long before the contest began and that ultimately brought about the separation of states. Generals Lee, Longstreet, Jackson and others, along with Generals Grant, Sherman, Hancock, Custer, Chamberlain and others will provide insight on their decisions of alignment as well as battle strategy while Mathew Brady enlightens listeners on his readiness to capture the contest for future generations.

In an effort to bring about greater clarity to the public, Harpers Weekly will send one of their Associate Editors who will introduce and moderate all presentations and debates. Following remarks offered by each speaker, the moderator will pose appropriate questions for brief responses. Questions for all speakers will be encouraged from the audience and throughout the weekend, all participants will be available for one on one discussions.

Numerous authors and publishers will be on hand to sign and discuss their works and of course they will have these works available for purchase. A variety of items will be available to purchase for you to take home as a memento of the occasion.
